REBUILDING TOGETHER MONTGOMERY COUNTY WORKS TO MATCH HOMEOWNERS AND THEIR SERVICE NEEDS WITH QUALIFIED VOLUNTEERS, SKILLED TRADESMEN AND COUNTY RESOURCES TO IMPROVE OUR CLIENTS’ HOME AND THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.

Our History

Rebuilding Together started in 1973 with an act of grassroots activism and community engagement in Midland, TX. A small group of good people realized a growing need in their community. Their neighbors’ homes had fallen into disrepair and the homeowners could not afford to fix them. The founding affiliates volunteered their time and skills to rehabilitate the homes of their neighbors, the last weekend in April, and began what was known as Christmas in April. This simple act of neighbors helping neighbors inspired others to get involved and eventually spread across the country bringing together partners from all walks of life to help our neighbors year-round.

Our Mission

Repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives.

Now in our 33nd year, Rebuilding Together Montgomery County (RTMC) have served 3,000 households, touching the lives of families with children, individuals with disabilities, veterans and the elderly. RTMC has galvanized more than 50,000 volunteers in our “neighbor-helping-neighbor” approach.

RTMC provides: – Small and large-scale home repairs – Accessibility modifications – Energy efficiency upgrades
